The Development Associate is responsible for supporting the Executive Director in the area of fundraising and membership development of NARAL Pro-Choice Connecticut (NPCC) 501 (c)(4), the NPCC Foundation (c)(3), and the NPCC PAC. The successful candidate will have strong organizational skills, a commitment to fundraising, and the ability to thrive in an intense, mission-driven workplace.
NARAL Pro-Choice Connecticut is a statewide, grassroots political advocacy organization whose mission is to develop and to sustain a pro-choice constituency that uses the political process to guarantee every woman the right to make personal decisions regarding the full range of reproductive health choices, including preventing unintended pregnancy, bearing healthy children, and choosing legal abortion.
Responsibilities:
- Support in fundraising preparation, including prospecting donors and conducting appropriate outreach
- Assist in donor research, including record keeping, follow-up, and support
- Aid in membership mailings, telemarketing campaigns, grant writing, and events
- Facilitate targeted and frequent communication with donors
- Maintain and build membership through renewal and other mailings, regular newsletters, e-mail, and correspondence, and website maintenance
Qualifications:
- Exceptional communications skills, both written and oral
- Demonstrated experience with Microsoft office
- Demonstrated experience with multiple databases and website maintenance
- Demonstrated fundraising experience in major donor cultivation, direct mail solicitations, telemarketing, event management, and/or grant writing
- Strong time management skills and the ability to prioritize multiple projects and deadlines
