NARAL Pro-Choice Montana Foundation promotes reproductive freedom and choice through education in an effort to guarantee every woman the right to make personal decisions regarding the full range of reproductive choices, including preventing unintended pregnancy, bearing healthy children, and choosing legal abortion.
We are looking for a creative, upbeat, pro-choice individual to fill the position of Grassroots Organizing and Sex Education Project Intern in our Helena office. Internships with NARAL Pro-Choice Montana allow you to build your resume and gain valuable organizing and research experience. This position will give the intern hands-on experience with the daily business of a small non-profit organization.
The summer position is closed, but we recruit year round. Those interested in interning for fall semester, the application deadline is July 31, 2008. For the spring semester, the deadline is November 31, 2008.
NARAL Pro-Choice Montana recruits interns year-round. We are looking for motivated, pro-choice students to assist in several of our programs.
Responsibilities:
- Assist in compiling NPCMF's official 2007 Legislative Voting Record on Choice
- Archive all relevant materials from the 2007 Legislative Session
- Outreach and member recruitment tabling at local events throughout the summer (petition-gathering, organizing, and training volunteers for pro-choice fair booths, etc.)
- Assist in membership communication efforts relating to the Sex Education Program (E-mail alert, website maintenance, newsletter articles, etc.)
- Assist with filing, database maintenance, input of pledges, and make address corrections
- Assist Executive Director and Program Director as needed.
Qualifications:
- Strong personal commitment to a woman's right to choose
- Strong computer skills
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills
- Ability to work independently
- Experience in Administration encouraged but not required.

The Grassroots Organizing and Sex Education Project Intern will be provided with a $500/month stipend. The Grassroots Organizing and Sex Education Project Intern is expected to devote 20 hours per week to working in the office. Our office hours are Monday thru Friday between 9AM and 5PM. Some evening and weekend work required, NARAL Pro-Choice Montana Foundation will work with your school to ensure academic credit.
