NARAL Pro-Choice Ohio's mission is to use the political process to guarantee every woman the right to make personal reproductive decisions including: preventing unintended pregnancy, bearing healthy children, and choosing safe and legal abortion.

NARAL Pro-Choice Ohio recruits interns year-round. We are looking for motivated, pro-choice students to assist in shaping the political landscape of Ohio. This internship is available in either the Columbus or Cleveland Office.

Responsibilities:

Communications Interns will participate in grassroots work to help educate our members and the general public about reproductive health care and the freedom of choice in our state and country. Communications Interns will be responsible for the following:

• Updating printed materials, and creating new fact sheets.
• Working with the Executive Director on press releases and press contacts.
• Making sure our press list is kept current
• Help with the publication of our quarterly newsletter, and monthly on-line newsletter.
• Keeping an eye on the newspapers around the state
• Creating sample letters to the editor that our activists can use to submit letters around the state
• Creating articles for local weekly and student newspapers on events occurring in the community or on campus.
• Post press releases and articles on the NARAL Pro-Choice Ohio webpage
• Help with other communications and outreach projects as needed.

Qualifications:

Strong communication and interpersonal skills are required for internship positions, as is the ability to work independently. The communication intern should have some basic experience in computer graphic design and layout, as well as excellent written communication skills.

Internships with NARAL Pro-Choice Ohio allow you to build your resume and gain valuable organizing and research experience. We will work with you to receive academic credit if available.
