NARAL Pro-Choice Ohio's mission is to use the political process to guarantee every woman the right to make personal reproductive decisions including: preventing unintended pregnancy, bearing healthy children, and choosing safe and legal abortion.

NARAL Pro-Choice Ohio recruits interns year-round. We are looking for motivated, pro-choice students to assist in shaping the political landscape of Ohio.  Interns can work in all areas of Ohio, our offices are located in Columbus and Cleveland.

Responsibilities:

Political Organizing Interns will participate in grassroots work to help educate our members and the general public about legislation that impacts reproductive freedom in our state and country. The Political Organizing Interns are also responsible for helping to educate people about their local, state, and national representatives. Political Organizing Interns will be responsible for the following:

• Registering new voters.
• Collecting petition signatures (for whatever issue we are collecting signatures for at the time) and email addresses for our Choice Action Network (CAN).
• Keeping an eye on legislation in the State House and Senate.
• Create a Letters to the Editor about important legislative issues.
• Help coordinate our on-line political advocacy and CAN alerts about legislative issues.
• Form a web of rapid responder volunteers throughout the state that coordinate talking to their state house member and senator when important legislation is up for debate or vote.
• Help with other political and legislative projects as needed.
• Help with voter education and get out the vote activities.

Qualifications:

Strong communication and interpersonal skills are required for internship positions, as is the ability to work independently.
