Reports To: Executive Director Supervises: Development staff, board fundraising, interns and volunteers. This includes but is not limited to three fundraising associates, auction staff, volunteers on fundraising committees and interns.
Responsibilities:
The development director works with executive director in writing and implementing fundraising plans that meet the monthly, annual and long terms budget goals of NARAL Pro-Choice Washington, a 501(c) 4, the Foundation, a 501 (c) 3 and two Political Action Committee's. The total 2006 budget was $900,000. This includes supervising direct mail, telemarketing, events and grants. A primary focus for the development director is to plan, organize and implement the major donor plan. This person will staff the executive director in major donor efforts and make major donor calls and visits when necessary and appropriate.
Qualifications:
- Education: Bachelor's Degree in one of the following areas: planning, public administration, business, social sciences, law, project management or related field. Appropriate graduate training is desirable.
- Experience: Three years of professional fundraising experience in a non-profit or political organization. One year of supervisory and management experience.
