Did you know that the Vermont legislature reaffirmed its support for the protections of Roe v. Wade?
In honor of the thirty-fourth anniversary of the Supreme Court's decision in Roe v. Wade, in 2007 the Vermont legislature passed declarations reaffirming the Court's decision and the protections it provides.
The declarations recognize that "one of the most private and difficult decisions is whether to begin, prevent, continue or terminate a pregnancy," and so "reaffirm[] the right of every Vermont woman to privacy, autonomy and safety in making personal decisions regarding reproduction and family planning."
