Refusal to Provide Medical Services

Refusal Clause in Effect

47 states, the District of Columbia, and the federal government allow certain individuals or entities to refuse to provide women specific health services, information, or referrals: AK, AR, AZ, CA, CO, CT, DE, FL, GA, HI, IA, ID, IL, IN, KS, KY, LA, MA, MD, ME, MI, MN, MO, MS, MT, NC, ND, NE, NJ, NM, NV, NY, OH, OK, OR, PA, RI, SC, SD, TN, TX, UT, VA, WA, WI, WV, WY.

Only 3 states do not give individuals or entities the ability to refuse to provide patients with reproductive health services: AL, NH, VT.
