Post-Viability Abortion Restriction
No abortion may be performed after viability unless necessary to protect the woman's life or health. Wash. Rev. Code Ann. §§ 9.02.110 (Enacted by Initiative 1991), 9.02.120 (Enacted by Initiative 1991), 9.02.170 (Enacted by Initiative 1991).
NARAL Pro-Choice America supports the legal framework established in
Roe v. Wade and does not oppose restrictions on post-viability abortions, such as Washington's, that contain adequate exceptions to protect the life and health of the woman.
