Congressional leaders finalized a bill that invests in family-planning services and starts to put the brakes on “abstinence-only” programs. We wouldn’t be seeing these commonsense policy changes on paper if it weren’t for the electoral gains we made in 2006.

Unfortunately, our allies on Capitol Hill confirmed that Congress will not be sending President Bush a bill that repeals the global gag rule this year. But we’re not backing down. 

Please follow the steps below to send a message of support to international women’s health providers on the ground, such as the Family Planning Association in Nepal, the Family Health Options in Kenya, and the Family Guidance Association in Ethiopia. 

1. Write on a piece of paper "We're not backing down."
2. Ask someone to take a picture of you holding your message with a digital camera or cell phone.
