I think that access to birth control is so important because if we are to reduce abortion rates in this country, we need to provide a realistic, functional way to reduce unintended pregancy rates. Education + tools = effective results.

Access to birth control is the only way to prevent unwanted pregnancies. Abstinence is commendable, but unrealistic. And since this burden of prevention is dumped upon women, we must be able to be in charge of our own bodies.
