Lemon wedges. Crocodile dung. Seaweed. Frogs. In the age before safe, effective birth control, these were the types of options women had to rely on for birth control.

not everyone is financially, physically, mentally, and emotionally capable of raising a child at the same time that their bodies are capable of reproduction.

Every American woman should have the freedom to choose when or if she wants to have children. I am married and in my early thirties, and my husband and I both agree we may never have our own children.
As unpopular of a decision as that is among people in general, it is ours to make. Take away my ability to obtain birth control, and that decision is taken out of our hands- or at least reduced, as our choices of methods would be reduced.

Women deserve the right to control their lives and destinies. Having the ability to control family size is directly correlated with this. Access to birth control is essential to achieving this. Women should have the same right to birth control as men do to medications like Viagra. This should not be a choice or idea - it should be a right.

I think that access to birth control is so important because it is the most responsible thing sexually active people--who don't want a baby, for WHATEVER REASON--can do. All medically-approved birth control devices should be available to the American people, because the more options people have, the more likely they will be to take precautions.

A woman knows when she is emotionally, mentally, and materially prepared to become a mother. Until that time, avoidance of childbearing allows her to pursue her life goals (e.g., education, establishing a solid work history or financial security, spiritual growth). If she is well-prepared and well-supported for the life-changing experience of motherhood, her child and her family will be the better for it.

Women everywhere should have access to birth control because it is a fundamental right. A child grows inside a woman's body, and a woman should have every right to decide if and when she is ready to conceive. My motto is "keep your laws off my body!"

Reproductive rights are as important as free speech rights.
To lose control of our bodies due to legislation put forward by men is just wrong. As the mother of two teenaged girls, I feel the desperate need to protect reproductive rights.
How can anyone opposed to abortion also be opposed to birth control? The stupidity is baffling.

a woman's emotional, medical and financial well being is directly tied to her ability to decide when and if she has a child.

giving women access to birth control helps prevent unwanted pregnancies. By preventing unwanted pregnancies, we can prevent women from having to make a difficult choice.
