women need to be in control over their bodies and the choices that they make over reproduction. Period. There are so many reasons, for young and for older women that I feel this explanation should be simply understood. An average woman spends approximately 30 years of her life capable of "producing" a child. That's a great deal of time that she can be a valuable member of society, working, giving, and earning a living. Limiting child-birth is key to this endeavor. Birth control or call it something else perhaps -- contraception, whathaveyou, it's not just a necessity, it's a reality. Women vote for it.

women's rights are being eroded in America at an alarming rate. Even a former President, Jimmy Carter, has voiced his views on this erosion of rights in television interviews. Pregnancy, especially unintended pregnancy, has such a major impact on the health and lives of women that they need to control their reproductive activities by themselves, with help from trusted doctors. Each woman and pregnancy is different and no broad and sweeping legislation can insure the proper care of any particular case.
