I think that access to birth control is so important because I am an eighteen year-old woman. I see the situations into which my friends and I are put; teaching abstinence is futile, because teenagers are going to have sex no matter what. Birth control makes it possible to be responsible about your sexuality.

I think that access to birth control is so important because it allows couples to plan their families. My husband and I used birth control to prevent a pregnancy we were not ready to handle financially. I can't imagine living in a civilization that does not allow this basic right to choose when to start a family. I take issue with anyone who feels they have the right to make this decision for me or anyone else.
