Jay Newton-Small, author of "Broad Influence: How Women Are Changing the Way America Works." Newton-Small was recently chosen as winner of the National Press Foundation’s 2016 Everett McKinley Dirksen Award for Distinguished Reporting of Congress. Her reporting on the women in the U.S. Senate and their ability to work around the Capitol's gridlock was published in ELLE Magazine, she is a contributer for TIME, and she is often featured on CNN and MSNBC covering the aftermath of the 2016 election.
