Rep. Charlie Bass
Rep. Charlie Bass (R) is mixed-choice. He is the incumbent.
Rep. Bass earned a 30-percent score in NARAL Pro-Choice America's 2011 Congressional Record on Choice.
Voted twice against the proposal to block Planned Parenthood from receiving any federal funds, which would have denied millions of Americans access to contraception, cancer screenings, and other basic medical care.
Voted for H.R.3, a bill that would ban abortion coverage in state health-insurance exchanges; impose tax penalties on small businesses and many individuals who purchase private health plans that include abortion coverage; and make permanent several restrictions that block many women from accessing abortion care.
Voted to allow hospitals to refuse to provide emergency abortion care to women who could die without it.
Rep. Bass earned a 57-percent rating from the National Right to Life Committee in 2011.
Ann McLane Kuster
Ann McLane Kuster (D) is pro-choice.
NARAL Pro-Choice America PAC has endorsed McLane Kuster.
In 2010 issue statement, Kuster's campaign stated that "Ann McLane Kuster is a longtime champion for equal rights and civil rights, and her advocacy against discrimination and in support of a woman's right to choose has earned her the support of NARAL Pro-Choice America, EMILY's List, the National Organization for Women, Women's Campaign Forum, and Feminist Majority."
Kuster said, "Thanks to the United States Supreme Court decision in Roe v. Wade, these women have the choice- the personal, private and legal choice - about their reproductive health in their future."
