• Ashwin Madia is running in an open seat with Representative Ramstad retiring. 
• Madia, who is fully pro-choice, is running against anti-choice State Representative Erik Paulsen. Paulsen earned a 0% rating from NARAL Pro-Choice Minnesota.
• State Representative Paulsen introduced numerous pieces of anti-choice legislation in the Minnesota State House, including bills on abortion reporting requirements, constitutional standards for abortion, informed consent and 24-hour waiting periods, prohibiting taxpayer funded grants from being used for abortion and requiring filed reports on abortions by physicians.
• Madia stated on his Stonewall DLF questionnaire, "The next Congressperson from the Third Congressional District needs to be both a strong advocate for pro-choice legislation as well as someone who will recognize and take a firm stand against future 'stealth' efforts to undermine a woman's right to choose.
