NARAL Pro-Choice America Congratulates Richard Blumenthal, Calls His Victory a Win for a 'Proven Ace'
Washington, D.C. – Nancy Keenan, president of NARAL Pro-Choice America, praised Connecticut voters for electing NARAL Pro-Choice America PAC-endorsed candidate Richard Blumenthal to represent them in the U.S. Senate.
"We look forward to working with Sen.-elect Blumenthal in the same way NARAL Pro-Choice Connecticut has worked with him in his capacity as attorney general," Keenan said. "The race was between a proven ace and an untested wildcard. The voters clearly sided with the proven ace. Sen.-elect Blumenthal's victory keeps this seat in the pro-choice column, which means we will have a strong voice for freedom and privacy as anti-choice senators continue their attacks on reproductive-health care."
NARAL Pro-Choice America PAC contributed $5,000 to Sen.-elect Blumenthal's campaign. In addition, the organization also mobilized through email, text messaging, and automated calls its 7,775 member activists in Connecticut in support of Sen.-elect Blumenthal's efforts. The organization featured Sen.-elect Blumenthal on its website and Facebook page.
