NARAL Pro-Choice America PAC Endorses Hochul in N.Y. Special Election
Pro-choice organization looks to gain pro-choice pick upWashington D.C. - Nancy Keenan, president of NARAL Pro-Choice America, announced that her organization’s political action committee has endorsed Erie County Clerk Kathy Hochul for her bid to represent New York’s 26th Congressional District, a race that has become increasingly competitive in recent weeks.
“Kathy Hochul is a champion for the fundamental American values of freedom and privacy, and we are proud to stand with her," Keenan said. “Voters are rejecting House Speaker John Boehner’s extreme and divisive anti-choice agenda. Kathy Hochul will provide a powerful voice against the War on Women that Speaker Boehner and his allies have relentlessly pursued since assuming power in January.”
"I am deeply grateful for the support of NARAL Pro-Choice America," said Hochul. "Once in Congress, I will fight to ensure women have access to safe and adequate health services without interference from the federal government."
Hochul’s opponent, Jane Corwin, recently stated that she would have cast a vote in favor of the anti-choice House leadership’s plan to bar millions of women from accessing birth control, cancer screenings, Pap smears, and other preventive health services at Planned Parenthood centers across the country.
