NARAL Pro-Choice America PAC Congratulates Janice Hahn on Her Victory Over Anti-Choice Candidate
Washington, D.C. – Nancy Keenan, president of NARAL Pro-Choice America, praised voters in California’s 36th Congressional District for electing NARAL Pro-Choice America PAC-endorsed candidate Janice Hahn to represent them in the U.S. House of Representatives.
“Californians have made their choice in this race by rejecting an anti-choice candidate, Craig Huey, and sending Janice Hahn to Washington,” Keenan said. “Rep.-elect Hahn is a champion of the fundamental values of freedom and privacy. She will fight against those who take aim at women’s reproductive health. Her win reflects the views of this pro-choice district.”
NARAL Pro-Choice America mobilized its 2,065 member activists in California’s 36th District through email and text messaging. The organization also garnered social media support of Hahn’s campaign.
Keenan also acknowledged the passing of Rep.-elect Hahn’s mother, Ramona Hahn. “The Hahn family is in our thoughts and prayers,” Keenan said. “Mrs. Hahn was truly an inspirational figure for a family that has done so much to promote public service.”
Rep.-elect Hahn’s victory means the seat, formerly represented by Jane Harman, will remain in the pro-choice column.
