Latest Campaign Ad Ties Akin to Romney
Washington, D.C. – Nancy Keenan, president of NARAL Pro-Choice America, said the latest campaign ad launched by the Now or Never PAC, shows voters yet again that Senate candidate Rep. Todd Akin (R-MO) and presidential hopeful Mitt Romney share a common vision and agenda.
Unfortunately, that agenda puts women’s reproductive rights in immediate danger.
“The prospect of a Todd Akin and Mitt Romney win should send a chilling reminder of why elections matter,” Keenan said. “Should Todd Akin and Mitt Romney win, they will join forces to dismantle our reproductive rights.”
Akin sparked controversy earlier this year with outrageous remarks regarding reproductive rights for survivors of sexual assault. Unfortunately, several other anti-choice candidates have followed with additional highly insensitive comments. Just last week, Romney-endorsed Senate candidate from Indiana Richard Mourdock declared that, “even when life begins in that horrible situation of rape, that it is something that God intended to happen.”
“Women will not be fooled," Keenan continued. “There is too much at stake in this election. Mitt Romney cannot be trusted.”
