NARAL Pro-Choice America And EMILY’s List Team Up To Knock "Democrats for Life All-Star" Brendan Boyle Out of PA-13 Race
In advance of one of the most hotly contested primaries in Pennsylvania, NARAL Pro-Choice America and EMILY’s List, today, announced that they are teaming up to target anti-choice State Representative Brendan Boyle to represent the 13th Congressional District. Boyle’s anti-choice status was solidified when he was given the seal of approval by Democrats for Life of America naming him an “All Star” for his well-documented opposition to reproductive rights.
NARAL Pro-Choice America and EMILY’s List, who have never partnered before on this type of electoral work, will target pro-choice women voters in the district with a direct mail campaign through primary day. You can see the pieces on our website.
Boyle was awarded his “All Star” status by the anti-choice group for his abysmal anti-choice record including repeatedly supported drastic and burdensome restrictions designed to single out abortion providers. Boyle even publicly pledged to block funding for family-planning centers.
“Brendan Boyle has no place in a race with true champions for women's rights,” said Ilyse Hogue, president of NARAL Pro-Choice America. “Boyle’s votes speak louder than his words. Pennsylvania voters deserve representation by leaders who are proud champions of reproductive health and women's fundamental freedoms. We're proud to work with EMILY’s List to educate voters about Brendan Boyle's track record and why he's clearly the wrong choice in this race."
"The women and families of this district deserve to send a representative to Washington who will be a champion for them," said Stephanie Schriock, president of EMILY’s List. “With unprecedented attacks on women's rights and opportunities all over the country, and certainly within the Republican-controlled House, women need a fighter with a consistent record of putting them first. There are strong women frontrunners in this race and the EMILY's List community is committed to making sure that voters know there is a clear contrast in this important primary."
