Best-Selling Author, Political Analyst Dee Dee Myers to Serve as Keynote Speaker at San Francisco Power of Choice Luncheon
Event marks organization's first event on West Coast since pro-choice President Barack Obama took officeSan Francisco, Calif. – Nancy Keenan, president of NARAL Pro-Choice America, will join the area's leading pro-choice political activists and supporters to celebrate the organization's 40th birthday at the 14th annual Power of Choice luncheon on Tuesday, March 3 at the Westin St. Francis in San Francisco, Calif.
Keenan's remarks at the event will address the opportunities and challenges that lie ahead for the nation's pro-choice majority with pro-choice President Barack Obama and the new Congress.
Dee Dee Myers, who holds the distinction of the being the first woman to serve as White House Press Secretary and one of the youngest press secretaries to date, will be the keynote speaker. Myers is one of the nation's most visible political commentators; currently she is a political analyst for CBS News and a contributing editor to Vanity Fair. In 2008, Myers' book "Why Women Should Rule the World", a memoir examining her tenure as White House Press Secretary and the challenges women face in positions of power, hit the New York Times bestseller list. Critics and pundits alike called the book, "smart, funny and tough."
The event's leadership includes San Francisco philanthropists Dagmar Dolby, the founder of the Power of Choice luncheon, Janie Friend, Nonie Greene, and Jane Wolf.
