On Thursday, May 7, 2009, NARAL Pro-Choice America supporters in Chicago gathered to celebrate the organization's 40th anniversary. Ruth Geller and Laurie Regenbogen co-chaired the event with the help of Honorary Chairs Jacolyn Bucksbaum, JoAnn Eisenberg, Ellen Harris and Susan Wislow. The luncheon featured keynote speaker Kerry Kennedy, author of The New York Times best seller, Being Catholic Now: Prominent Americans Talk About Change in the Church and the Quest for Meaning. NARAL Pro-Choice America President Nancy Keenan also gave remarks and presented the Champion of Choice award to State Representative Barbara Flynn Currie, for her longtime dedication and commitment to choice.
