I've always been pro-choice and believe in a woman's right to have control over her own body -pregnant with a baby or not. My first real experience with abortion was during my freshman year in college when I took a close friend to get an abortion. It was a very hard decision for her, but she was too young and incapable of supporting a baby. It was a hard procedure and it took a long time for her to recover emotionally (and physically), but it was the right decision for her.
Now that I am a mother of a 4 month old girl, I am even more pro-choice. Being a mother is the hardest thing I've ever done. I feel lucky that I have a loving spouse, a good job, and support in a whole variety of ways. I can't imagine having to be a mom with out all that. Women need to be able to choose what is right for them and their unborn because bringing a baby into this world without the necessary tools to live (money, food, clothing, love) is irresponsible and just as damaging than aborting a fetus. People who have never been pregnant or can't be pregnant(men)have no idea what it is like to have life inside you and have to make that decision. For women that use abortion as birth control - shame on you for not using other methods first... but it is still your choice to make.
