A few years back after changing jobs I was left without health insurance. I couldn't afford my birth control and other routine health visits so I turned to my local Planned Parenthood. I was deeply touched by their willingness to help women, no matter what their struggle and will forever be grateful for their welcoming arms in my time of need. When going in for routine check ups or just picking up monthly prescriptions, I was constantly accosted and harassed by protesters, most of which were middle aged men. As a single mother of an 11 year old, I know the importance of a woman's right to choose and from that time forward I knew that I'd do everything I could to protect that choice and to ensure that clinics like Planned Parenthood will always be around for women in need.
