I still remember when the decision in Roe v. Wade was announced, how I felt a great, oppressive weight had been lifted from the lives of all American women.
And I thought the weight was gone forever, that, like suffrage, the right to choice would never be questioned again.
And, like so many women, for years I disregarded the rising threat posed by the anti-choice faction and the growing numbers of politicians courting their favor. Now I know we must ever be vigilant, and that we must work every day to insure the rights of all women.
