My mother is a feminist and instilled those values in me from a very young age; I remember having arguments about abortion with my friends when I was in 3rd grade. She's been at my side at all my memorable pro-choice moments: we rode the bus together for 20 hours to get to the March for Women's Lives, she comforted me after our governor signed the abortion ban, and we walked together into the capital when we turned in petitions to put the ban on the ballot.
I was a planned and wanted child and was given more love and support than I could've ever asked for. As I've gotten older, I've really realized how lucky I am. I want all children to be welcomed into the world the way I was.
