My mom was born in 1911. She was ahead of her time. The one issue that mom was quite adamant about was abortion. I was confused. Mom was nuts about babies. She was an OB/GYN Nurse. She worked in the delivery room at one time. I had to ask. Mom said, “Yes, there are better choices that could've been taken, but they weren't. What we have to do now is protect life through safe, clinical procedure.” You see I didn't know that mom had seen over 30 years worth of the results of botched illegal abortion.
My mom is gone now. I will not let what she fought for be trampled into the ground. This is why I stand with you brave women. I have big shoes to fill but I will do my best.
