My mom was a political conservative. I was therefore surprised when she told me she was voting for legalized abortion in Maryland. The reason: when she was younger, the daughter of a friend had an illegal abortion (I'll omit the details) and died as a result. No matter what the cause of the unwanted pregnancy, my mom felt women have a right to safe, legal abortion services.
She passed away several years ago, but I still say: GO MOM!
