“Women, regardless of where they work, deserve access to the fundamental benefit of contraceptive coverage. Research has shown that 99 percent of Americans have used of birth control within their lifetime, and 99 percent of Catholic women have used some form birth control. This is not only common-sense policy, but vital health care for women. While the Supreme Court did not weigh in on the merits of this case, we’re confident that the court’s decision in the two cases it has agreed to consider this term will turn out in favor of protecting access to this critical health-care benefit.”
NARAL Pro-Choice America led the People’s Defense campaign, a massive grassroots effort to defeat Judge Neil Gorsuch’s nomination to the Supreme Court. Joining the campaign are Indivisible, American Federation of Teachers, Center for American Progress Action Fund, CREDO Action, Demos, Emily’s List, End Citizens United, EveryVoice, MoveOn.org Civic Action, People for the American Way, Planned Parenthood, Progressive Change Campaign Committee, Service Employees International Union, Stand Up America, and the Working Families Party.
