Rep. Watson Coleman & NARAL president: Let’s appreciate abortion providers, not target them
FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE
March 10, 2016
Today, on the National Day of Appreciation for Abortion Providers, Congresswoman Bonnie Watson Coleman (NJ-12) and Ilyse G. Hogue, President of NARAL Pro-Choice America published an op-ed on Medium, blasting GOP members of the Select Committee to Attack Women’s Health. The piece calls out these members for potentially endangering the lives of abortion providers, researchers, and students with their demands for the personal information of almost anyone connected to abortion in any way.

As stated by Watson Coleman and Hogue in the op-ed:
“Following a year of unprecedented violence against abortion providers, it’s not a stretch to imagine the danger in compiling such a list. Anti-choice fringe activists have long targeted doctors and scientists with acts of terrorism and violence ― like the domestic terrorism that left three dead at a Colorado Springs Planned Parenthood facility less than six months ago.
“We should work together to ensure that horrific acts of violence like that one never happen again. Instead, Republicans risk making these incidents even more likely by needlessly collecting and potentially disseminating a comprehensive list of individuals who work in or with research labs.”
