NARAL Pro-Choice America President Ilyse Hogue released the following statement in response to anti-choice extremist Troy Newman’s endorsement of Donald Trump:
“By endorsing Donald Trump, anti-choice extremist Troy Newman has taken his place among the ranks of David Duke and others who fuel Trump’s bigoted and hateful campaign. It comes as no surprise that Newman, the man who has called for the public execution of doctors who provide abortion care, finally decided to jump on the bandwagon of Trump, who wants to punish women who choose abortion. Newman’s endorsement just goes to show why Trump has brought together the anti-choice movement and the racist, misogynistic alt-right: All of them share an intense desire to put women down and prevent us from being full partners in society. We deserve better. America deserves better.”
