NARAL Statement on Sessions’ Confirmation as Attorney General

Today, the Senate voted to confirm Sen. Jeff Sessions as U.S. Attorney General. NARAL In response, Pro-Choice America President Ilyse Hogue released the following statement:

“After the Trump administration spent its first week incessantly attacking our personal freedom, Jeff Sessions’ confirmation sends an ominous message to the most vulnerable members of our society. His record of misogyny and racism make him flat-out unfit to serve as attorney general—to the point where a Republican-led committee denied his confirmation to the federal bench—yet here we are. NARAL’s 1.2 million members will keep marching, protesting, and defending the rights of our fellow Americans.”
