In recognition of National Abortion Provider Appreciation Day, NARAL Pro-Choice America President Ilyse Hogue released the following statement:
“Today we celebrate the fearless health providers across the country who always put the well-being of women first. Amidst unprecedented threats to our reproductive freedom, these providers work every day to ensure that women across the country continue to have access to critical health services, including abortion. Their vital work helps women determine their own destinies, and to choose if, when, and with whom to raise a family. The unfortunate history of violence and intimidation that many abortion providers have faced as they practiced their care is all the more reason to celebrate these courageous individuals. That’s why today we thank abortion providers for all the work they do to support women, our families, and the communities we call home.”
