Nationwide Rallies Oppose Trump’s Agenda, Supreme Court Nominee With A “People’s Filibuster”

FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE
April 1, 2017

In more than a dozen cities across the country, grassroots activists and members of the People’s Defense gathered today to oppose Trump’s dangerous agenda, including his pick for the Supreme Court. These events, dubbed “The People’s Filibuster,” come just two days before the US Senate Judiciary Committee will vote on a lifetime appointment for Trump’s nominee, whose cruel record and out-of-touch ideology makes him unfit to serve on our nation’s highest court. The American people also understand that this decision isn’t just about the next four years—it’s about keeping President Trump’s dangerous agenda off of our nation’s highest court for decades to come.
