NARAL Statement on Passage of GOP Tax Bill

(Washington, DC) — After the House and Senate voted to pass the GOP tax bill, which includes a provision to severely undermine the Affordable Care Act, NARAL Pro-Choice America National Communications Director Kaylie Hanson Long issued the following statement:

“From the very beginning, the GOP used this tax bill to enact their out-of-touch agenda. When given the opportunity to create real change and make life better for hard working women and families across America, they failed. It’s shameful that the GOP instead used the tax bill as a bait and switch to rip healthcare away from millions of people.

“We have seen time and time again that the anti-choice GOP is all too willing to throw women and families under the bus if it means they can score points with their fringe base. As long as elected officials continue to attack our basic human rights, we’ll keep organizing and mobilizing to hold them accountable in 2018.”
