Incumbents Earn Endorsement from Nation’s Leading Pro-Choice Advocacy Group

NARAL Pro-Choice America today announced its endorsement of Representatives Ami Bera (CA-7), Raul Ruiz (CA-36), Julia Brownley (CA-26), and Salud Carbajal (CA-24) in their 2018 re-election efforts. Each member has a 100% rating from NARAL Pro-Choice America’s most recent Congressional Record on Choice. NARAL Pro-Choice America is endorsing these members because of their proven track record of advocating for women’s rights in an outsized way in Congress.
A January poll released by NARAL Pro-Choice California shows that reproductive rights will be key for the state’s voters in 2018. Eighty percent said women’s rights and reproductive rights are important to how they vote, including 90 percent of women.
“These members are champions in the fight to defend and expand our reproductive freedom, including access to abortion care. We couldn’t be more proud to endorse them,” said Ilyse Hogue, president of NARAL Pro-Choice America. “We need members of Congress who will stand up for women as equal partners in society and fight back against Trump’s anti-choice agenda. Representatives Bera, Ruiz, Brownley and Carbajal do that on a consistent and unwavering basis, and we’re so proud to have their backs in 2018.”
