NARAL Pro-Choice America Endorses Colin Allred on His Bid For Congress

NARAL Pro-Choice America today announced its endorsement of Colin Allred in his bid to represent Texas’ 32nd Congressional District.

“Protecting women’s access to reproductive healthcare will be a top priority for Colin Allred in Congress,” said Ilyse Hogue, president of NARAL Pro-Choice America. “Women and families across Texas deserve a passionate advocate for their basic healthcare rights like Allred. We know he will be a fighter for their reproductive freedom and we are proud to support him.”

“No woman should ever have to struggle to gain access to reproductive healthcare. It is inexcusable for Republicans in Congress to continue with their attacks on women and their reproductive rights,” said Colin Allred, civil rights attorney and candidate for Texas’ 32nd congressional district. “I am honored to have the support of NARAL and look forward to being their voice in Congress and an advocate women can rely on.”

Colin Allred previously served as the Special Assistant in the Department of Housing and Urban Development’s Office of General Counsel. He then went on to coordinate the first ever coordinated voter protection program during the 2014 gubernatorial election as the voter protection director for Dallas-Fort Worth. Allred is strongly pro-choice and will be an advocate for paid family leave, funding for Planned Parenthood and will fight against the GOP’s attacks on women’s reproductive health and freedom.
