Former Ambassador and Candidate for Florida’s 6th Congressional District Earns Endorsement from Nation’s Leading Pro-Choice Advocacy Group
For Immediate Release: May 9, 2018
NARAL Pro-Choice America today announced its endorsement of Nancy Soderberg in her campaign to represent Florida’s 6th Congressional District.
“Nancy Soderberg will be a fighter for reproductive freedom for all in Congress,” said Ilyse Hogue, president of NARAL Pro-Choice America. “As someone who has spent her career in public service, we know Nancy Soderberg will continue to be the advocate women and families across Florida deserve and we are proud to stand with her.”
“Now more than ever, women in our country need a fighter on their side,” said Nancy Soderberg. “I am thrilled to have earned the support of NARAL, an organization at the forefront of fighting for women’s access to the reproductive health care they’ll need at every step of their lives. As a U.S. ambassador abroad, I fought to ensure women, no matter their income or nationality, could get the reproductive health care they needed. In Congress, I’ll stand and fight on the side of women in this country to ensure their right to access quality, affordable reproductive health care.”
Former Ambassador Nancy Soderberg has over thirty years of experience in foreign policy as she has served in key positions in the White House, the United Nations, the United States Senate, and on four presidential campaigns. She has promoted democracy and conflict resolution worldwide. As a former Ambassador, Soderberg recognizes the demand for reproductive freedom for girls and women internationally, and nationally.
NARAL Pro-Choice America and its network of state affiliates are dedicated to protecting and expanding reproductive freedom for all Americans. NARAL works to guarantee that every woman has the right to make personal decisions regarding the full range of reproductive choices, including preventing unintended pregnancy, bearing healthy children, and choosing legal abortion. In recognition of its work defending our constitutional right to choose, Fortune Magazine described NARAL as “one of the top 10 advocacy groups in America.”
