NARAL Pro-Choice America today announced its endorsement of Gil Cisneros in California’s 39th Congressional district.
“Gil Cisneros has dedicated his life to serving his country, and we are thrilled to endorse his campaign to represent California’s 39th District in Congress,” said Ilyse Hogue, president of NARAL Pro-Choice America. “Now more than ever, with Roe hanging in the balance,, we need fearless, pro-choice champions like Gil Cisneros to represent the values of California women and families in Congress.”
“I trust women to make their own healthcare decisions, and in Congress, I will fight to protect that right and work to expand reproductive freedom for all women and families,” said Cisneros. “I will stand up against Washington Republican attempts to undermine access to life saving healthcare services and continue to advocate for a woman’s right to make her own healthcare choices.”
Gil Cisneros was a naval officer and is president of The Gilbert & Jacki Cisneros Foundation. Cisneros and his wife won the lottery in 2010 and began to dedicate their lives to ensuring quality education for Latinx. Cisneros is committed to defending a woman’s right to choose and protecting Planned Parenthood funding from Republican attacks in Congress. He will face Young Kim in November, a strongly anti-choice candidate.
