Candidate in Virginia’s 10th Congressional District Earns Endorsement from Nation’s Leading Pro-Choice Advocacy Group

NARAL Pro-Choice America today announced its endorsement of Jennifer Wexton for Congress in Virginia’s 10th Congressional District.
“We need pro-choice voices like Jennifer Wexton in Congress now more than ever,” said Ilyse Hogue, president of NARAL Pro-Choice America. “Electing fighters like Jennifer Wexton, who will stand against policies intended to harm women and families, is vital at this moment and we are proud to endorse her.”
“With Roe v. Wade and decades of hard-fought victories on the line, it is now more important than ever that we stand for women’s right to make their own reproductive decisions,” said Wexton. “I am honored to have earned the endorsement of NARAL, and look forward to continuing to work with them to protect and strengthen women’s health and reproductive rights.”
“Jennifer Wexton will be the congresswoman Virginia women and families need to fight for their reproductive rights in Congress,” said NARAL Pro-Choice Virginia Executive Director Tarina Keene. “Barbara Comstock made it clear during her time in the Virginia General Assembly as well as her tenure in Congress that she should have more control over your body and life than you. But we won’t stand for it. NARAL Pro-Choice Virginia members sent Jennifer Wexton to the Virginia State Senate in 2014 and they are ready to now send her to Congress in November.”
Jennifer Wexton is a lawyer who is currently in her second term in the Virginia State Senate. In the Senate, Wexton fought for pro-choice legislation to remove waiting periods and TRAP laws for women. She is running against Barbara Comstock who has helped pass bills that restrict women’s access to abortion and birth control.. Virginia’s 10th congressional district deserves a congresswoman that prioritizes access to reproductive healthcare and birth control and Jennifer Wexton is that congresswoman.
