NARAL Pro-Choice America today announced its endorsement of Haley Stevens in Michigan’s 11th Congressional District.
“Haley Stevens will be a pro-choice champion for Michigan women and families and we are proud to endorse her,” said Ilyse Hogue, president of NARAL Pro-Choice America. “She has made health care a priority in her campaign and will do the same in Congress. We will do everything we can to support her election in November.”
“NARAL Pro-Choice America has been on the front lines of the fight to protect women from attacks on our fundamental rights, and their leadership has never been more important than it is today,” said Stevens. “I am honored to have their endorsement in my bid for Congress, and I look forward to working alongside them to ensure that every woman has the right to make her own health care decisions.”
Haley Stevens is on track to be the first woman elected to represent Michigan’s 11th district. She served as the chief of staff on the Auto Task Force inside the U.S. Treasury Department under the Obama Administration, where her team was responsible for returning the auto industry to financial stability and saving over 200,000 Michigan jobs. She also lead the country’s first online certification job training program, with an emphasis on digital manufacturing. Most recently, she launched a STEM education program which exposed over 200 middle and high school students to digital manufacturing concepts and access to hands on learning. Stevens’ opponent is Republican Lena Epstein, the former Co-Chairman of the Trump for President campaign in Michigan. She is a harmful supporter of the pro-life agenda. Stevens believes in women’s autonomy and access to reproductive healthcare. In Congress, she will fight against Republican attacks on Planned Parenthood and for women’s unlimited access to abortion.
