NARAL Pro-Choice America today announced its endorsement of Sharice Davids in Kansas’ 3rd Congressional District.
“Sharice Davids has been a fighter – and an advocate for women and families – throughout her career and we are proud to endorse her,” said Ilyse Hogue, president of NARAL Pro-Choice America. “With Roe v. Wade under threat nationwide, and especially under assault in states like Kansas, women and families need a champion like Sharice Davids representing them in Congress. We are proud to support her and are excited to see her win in November.”
“As the daughter of a single mother Army veteran, I understand what reproductive freedom means when it comes to determining the course of your life, and why it is so important for everyone,” said Davids. “I will fight to ensure Kansas women and families have access to a full range of healthcare services they need, including reproductive health care, and that they are not excluded from insurance plans or denied care by providers.”
Davids earned her associate’s degree in liberal arts from Johnson County Community College in 2003, a B.A. in business administration from the University of Missouri-Kansas City in 2007, and her J.D. from Cornell Law School in 2010. Her career experience includes working as an Obama White House Fellow in the Department of Transportation, as chair of the board of directors of Twelve Clans, Inc. for the Ho-Chunk Nation, as deputy director for the Thunder Valley Community Development Corporation on the Pine Ridge Indian Reservation, as director of economic development at Red Cloud Indian School, as an associate at SNR Denton, and worked as of-counsel at Ceiba Legal.
