Following reports that the FBI’s investigation into sexual assault allegations against Brett Kavanaugh will end soon, after less than a week, NARAL Pro-Choice America issued a new research brief detailing the severely limited scope of the investigation. The report highlights key evidence that has been apparently ignored by the FBI, including people who have come forward with corroborating accounts and the various instances where Kavanaugh clearly lied under oath.
Brett Kavanaugh has lied under oath repeatedly, is hostile to women, and been accused of sexual assault by multiple women. Instead of searching for truth, Republicans in Congress and the White House have responded by launching a severely limited and unfair investigation to give them political cover for ramming through Kavanaugh’s nomination, against the will of the vast majority of Americans.
The allegations against Kavanaugh are serious, credible, and disqualifying, and the American people deserve to know the truth about his flawed character and lack of judicial temperament. To rush this process does a great disservice to the truth, our democratic procedures, and the brave women who have come forward to share their stories of sexual assault.
