On International Women’s Day, NARAL rolled out its first slate of endorsements of pro-choice champions for the 2020 election cycle. After having a heavy hand in the major political victories for House candidates in 2018, resulting in Democrats taking back the House, NARAL is once again going to bat for our newly-elected freshman allies. NARAL launched their biggest political program to date in 2018 and hasn’t hit the brakes, with early endorsements and support for champions across the country ahead of the 2020 cycle.
“The 2018 midterms marked a watershed moment for pro-choice champions across the country. We are proud to once again back these candidates who have proven themselves to be tireless advocates for reproductive freedom at a time when our rights are more at risk than ever,” said Ilyse Hogue, president of NARAL Pro-Choice America. “In 2018, we elected pro-choice champions in every corner of the country—from Des Moines to Orange County to Dallas—to fight back against the GOP’s extreme anti-choice ideology. We know the fight for reproductive freedom is going to be front and center in 2020 and partnering with our allies in the House is critical for ensuring the right to access to care is possible for women and families in all 50 states”
