NARAL Pro-Choice America today endorsed Allison Fine to represent New York’s 17th Congressional District. Fine is an author, social change leader, and founder of the Network of Elected Women, a nonprofit organization that helps women elected to local offices around the country achieve their goals. Fine is also a former Chair of the Board of the NARAL Pro-Choice America Foundation.
“Allison Fine is a tireless advocate for reproductive freedom and understands deeply what’s at stake for women and families with reproductive freedom under full-blown attack,” said Ilyse Hogue, NARAL Pro-Choice America President. “Allison is the kind of champion we need fighting for us in Congress and working to ensure that women can make critical decisions about pregnancy without interference from politicians. NARAL is proud to endorse her in this race.”
“I am an unapologetic feminist and immediate past chair of the national board of NARAL Pro-Choice America Foundation, who has spent years fighting to make reproductive freedom a reality for all women,” said Allison Fine. “Today, I am so proud to receive the endorsement of NARAL Pro-Choice America for my campaign for Congress. Women won’t ever truly be seen or treated as equals until our health choices are safe and respected. With a Trump-led White House and a male dominated Congress constantly trying to undercut our progress, it’s more important than ever to elect leaders who will fight for everyone to have control of our own bodies and break down barriers to reproductive freedom. Following in the footsteps of a trailblazing Congresswoman like Nita Lowey is no small task, but I’m proud to have NARAL on my side for this journey.”
Fine is running for the seat currently held by Democratic Representative Nita Lowey, who is not seeking re-election.
