Defeat of anti-choice, anti-freedom Republican Matt Mowers is a win for Granite Staters and reproductive freedom

New Hampshire Earlier today, voters in New Hampshire’s 1st Congressional District reelected NARAL-endorsed incumbent Representative Chris Pappas to the U.S. House of Representatives. His victory over anti-choice, anti-freedom Republican candidate Matt Mowers marks a huge win for reproductive freedom and protects a critical seat in the House.

In response to Pappas’ victory, NARAL Pro-Choice America President Ilyse Hogue released the following statement:

“If the last four years have shown us anything, it’s that we need champions like Representative Chris Pappas in office who will fight for our fundamental rights and freedoms—including the right to abortion—in the face of unprecedented threats. NARAL and our members are proud to have supported Representative Pappas in this race, and we look forward to continuing our work together to make sure that reproductive freedom is a reality for every body.”

In the 2020 election cycle, NARAL Pro-Choice America ran its largest-ever electoral program designed to reach, persuade, and mobilize key voters in target states across the country who are motivated by Trump and Republicans’ unyielding attacks on reproductive freedom.
