Defeat of anti-choice, anti-freedom Republican candidate Kyle Van De Water is a win for New Yorkers and reproductive freedom
New York — On November 6th, voters in New York’s 19th Congressional District reelected NARAL-endorsed incumbent Rep. Antonio Delgado to the U.S. House of Representatives. His victory over anti-choice, anti-freedom Republican candidate Kyle Van De Water marks a huge win for reproductive freedom.
In response to Delgado’s victory, NARAL Pro-Choice America President Ilyse Hogue released the following statement:
“NARAL Pro-Choice America congratulates Rep. Antonio Delgado on his reelection to Congress. If the last four years have shown us anything, it’s that we need champions like Antonio Delgado in office who will fight for our fundamental rights and freedoms—including the right to abortion—in the face of unprecedented threats.”
In the 2020 election cycle, NARAL Pro-Choice America ran its largest-ever electoral program designed to reach, persuade, and mobilize key voters in target states across the country who are motivated by Trump and Republicans’ unyielding attacks on reproductive freedom.
