Opening Plenary: Roadmap to the Supreme Court: How We Got Here, Where We Go

The Supreme Court’s anti-choice supermajority has decided to take up a case directly challenging Roe v Wade — sending an alarming reminder that the threat to the legal right to abortion is imminent and real. This panel will discuss the role of the anti-choice movement and disinformation in getting us to this moment; what the case is and what to expect; the disproportionate impacts on communities of color; and why passing the Women’s Health Protection Act is so critical.
Lobby Training: Influencing Policymakers and Advancing Reproductive Freedom

In this session, you will learn how to set up a lobby meeting with your member of Congress, build and practice the skills necessary to have an effective lobby meeting; and learn about the Women’s Health Protection Act, a bill that Congress must pass to safeguard reproductive freedom should Roe v Wade be overturned.

1) The Power Behind Your Story of Self
The most powerful tool only you have is your personal story. This session will cover how to develop and tell your “Story of Self” while using your personal story to connect with other NARAL members across the country! We will discuss the importance of using our personal stories to move us toward collective action. You will come away more empowered to advocate for the people and causes most important to you!
2) Social Media 101: Joining NARAL’s Social Media Community
Are you a user of Facebook, Twitter, Instagram, or YouTube? If you “Follow” “Like” “Tweet” “Share” or “Surf the comments,” the answer is YES! In Social Media 101: Joining NARAL’s Social Media Community you’ll learn how to connect and get involved with NARAL members and supporters across our social media community as we fight to combat anti-choice disinformation AND to protect and expand access to abortion care.
3) Building Your Own Repro Freedom Team!
As a NARAL Activist Summit attendee, YOU are a reproductive freedom leader for your community. We need you to recruit a team of your friends and acquaintances to help you lobby your member of Congress in support of reproductive freedom! No matter who your member of Congress is, we need your help to demonstrate our grassroots power and join other NARAL members across the country in August in meeting with your elected officials. In this session, we will show you how to use a tool called Empower to quickly and efficiently reach out to your networks and get them signed up to help you lobby for reproductive freedom.
Closing Plenary: Disinformation in the Time of Dobbs v. Jackson Women’s Health Organization

Anti-choice activists are doubling down on spreading dangerous disinformation after the announcement of a new Supreme Court case that directly challenges Roe v. Wade and the future of reproductive freedom. This panel will touch on the anti-choice movement’s strategy to get to this moment, key disinformation narratives it’s relying on in the lead-up to the case, and how NARAL members can mobilize to debunk lies in conversations with family, peers, and legislators.

Opening Plenary: A Conversation between Reps. Barbara Lee and Ayanna Pressley

An intimate conversation between two elected champions of reproductive freedom and justice discussing their thoughts on our current moment; the intersections of these movements and racial justice, and the importance of showing up for each other; the looming Supreme Court case; and their visions for a just and equitable world in which reproductive freedom and justice is a reality for every body.

2) How to Help Folks You Know Lobby for Reproductive Freedom
So you have in mind a few of your friends and acquaintances who share your reproductive freedom values and want to take action. Let’s talk about how to set them up for success in a grassroots lobbying meeting with your members of Congress! In this session, we will give you all the information you need to train your team on how to show up in a grassroots lobbying meeting for reproductive freedom.
