NARAL Pro-Choice Arizona Applauds Arizona Governor Katie Hobbs for Vetoing Dangerous Anti-Choice Bill

Phoenix, Arizona Today, Arizona Governor Katie Hobbs vetoed an extreme anti-choice bill that would have ignored medical realities and belittled the real-life experience of families by mandating political interference in personal medical decisions (SB 1600).

NARAL Pro-Choice America Southwest Regional Director Caroline Mello Roberson released the following statement in response:

“By vetoing this dangerous and cruel attack on Arizonans facing deeply personal decisions, Governor Hobbs is once again showing that she is unafraid to fight for reproductive freedom. Though anti-choice extremists may tell you otherwise, the truth is that this bill was based on blatant falsehoods that have absolutely nothing to do with how abortion care actually works. We are thankful to Governor Hobbs for safeguarding our fundamental freedoms, and we look forward to working side by side with her to protect reproductive freedom during this pivotal moment in our fight.”
